Visual Development
Babycakes was a senior capstone film that I had the privilege to direct. With a team of three other SCAD students, we worked to create a cute animated short about a mother and daughter baking duo and their struggles with childhood stardom.During the production, I took on the role of Lead visual development artist, creating and overseeing most of the projects preproduction elements.
Character Design
During preproduction, I was in charge of designing our infant character, "Eclair." I knew I wanted her to be significantly shaped based and relatively simple in design.
Finalized Design
In the final design stages, I reached out to people about what they wanted to see in a person of color character. Additionally, I did some more research to make sure the character wasn't insensitive in any way and to make her more appealing and friendly. With her round shape language, little features and top heavy shape she came out as a unique infant character.
Environment Linework
Environment 3D Model
I made a model in Autodesk Maya for the first and last settings to help speed up production and keep the environments consistent.

Film Poster
Posters and Advertisement pieces were vital in helping us find additional help on the project. During the entire production, I ran several social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and a film email. I thought it would help to keep people invested in the film's progress by creating seasonal posters and extra illustrations along with minor production teasers.
